Play Therapy

Jocelyn is a Registered Play Therapist through the Association for Play Therapy and a member of the North Texas Play Therapy Association.  She works with children age 3-10 utilizing exclusively play therapy.

You as a parent or guardian might ask “Why Play Therapy?”

Play therapy utilizes a child’s most effective language – play.  Licensed mental health professionals therapeutically use play to help clients better express themselves and resolve their problems.

Through play children can resolve inner conflicts, learn self-control, self-respect, and inner strength.

Through play children can learn to communicate better, express their emotions, resolve stress, and learn better emotional regulation.

Play therapy has been used as an intervention or support for behavioral issues, anger, grief and loss, divorce, and crisis and trauma.  It has been shown to help with anxiety, depression, conduct disorders, ADHD, and academic and social development.

I am happy to provide a free 15- minute phone consultation to discuss how play therapy might benefit your child.
